Nokia E72 Hard Reset with button combination

This is a procedure on how to hard reset the Nokia E73 through button combination.

Please Note:
The result of this process will wipes the entire phone memory and settings fresh to how it was (or should be) when you bought it.You are advise to make a back up of your device and you need to understand that what you are doing this is at your own risk. However, this does not delete all the data stored on the memory card.

The standard format method is this below.


Restore Factory Settings

Dial *7780# to restore all the settings to default. It will request for security PIN, the default code will be 12345.

Reformat Phone System

Dial *7370# to reset Nokia device, only data in System will be affected. To play safe, back up all your data before proceed. It will request for security PIN, the default code will be 12345.



For Hard Reset:

This also restore your Nokia when it frezzes at the nokia screen logo only and didn't go any further.
hard reset is an options but will result to loosing all settings, contacts, data etc…

Turn your phone off and simultaneously press these four buttons circled in red.


* * (asterisk key)

* 3 (numeric 3 key)
* CALL / GREEN key
* On button

This is another method below found out by trial and error when the * + 3 + Call didnt work.


Switch your phone off.


Then, lay it down on a flat surface


With 3 finger of one hand, keep pressed shift, space bar and back space all at the same time


With one finger of the other hand, press the power on button


Do not release neither the 3 keys nor the power key till you see the nokia shakehands animation.

Nokia 1508,1508i Hardware Repair Solution for USB Not Charging Problem

Here's the Nokia 1508 and 1508i USB not charging problem solution., This shows some  hints on how to fix when the device is unable to charge up  when the charger is being plug-in.

If encountered this problem, you may first try to used any other working charger, and then clean the USB pin connector if still the device wont charge-up.

First try to check the fuse, filter coil and the diode (if mounted) for possible damaged. Replace it at once if found faulty. Check and trace also the power supply voltage line paths from the USB pin connector down to the fuse and the filter coil.
If seems all of the components and connection were both okay, you may then try to replace the USB VBUS controller IC. This chip holds and control the USB charging voltage before it feeds to the main charging control chip which is the Power IC.

If the above steps doesn't solved, check the FUSE, Coil, capacitor  and the Diode, then replace if found damaged. If all these components seems all working OK, the next option will be is: Try to reheat, rework the Betty IC, these IC holds as a charging controller circuit. You may then try to replace it, if after reheating or reworking it doesn't solved the problem.

Nokia 6124c Power ON-OFF Button Switch Jumper Ways Solution

ere's the Nokia 6124c power On/Off button switch jumper solution, and can be used to fix the device if the said button switch terminal solder pads is already been lifted or damaged.

If the said button switch is already been damaged and the solder pads is okay you may just replace the button switch and the device will work again. For lifted solder pads, try and manage to dig out carefully the solder pads layer using a sharp pointed blade, where you can establish a solder to the power switch connection and toughly bond the switch so that it won't move and be damaged again. For severely damaged lifted board, the next option is only by way of applying a jumper wire directly to the Power IC.

If the two supply voltages (1.8V and 2.8V) to the camera IC were both okay, check the camera clock components such as the 47 ohms resistor and the 27 pica-farad capacitor.
